As schools break up we are ready for one of our busiest summers ever – read on for a full rundown of what’s on and when at the museum. With talks for adults; drawing masterclasses; our signature three day event; LEGO® Logistics; AND the Army Animals trail, there has never been a better time to visit.

Back with all new challenges (and some firm favourites) our innovative FREE family event invites visitors to make, explore and innovate with LEGO® bricks.

Take on our animal-based trail and find out all about the animals in the museum. Complete the trail to claim your prize from the front desk.
6th August – Field Marshal Lord Kitchener – behind the poster
Field Marshal Lord Kitchener is familiar to us all from the First World War Recruiting Poster. What is less known is his remarkable career which bears study as the prospect of expanding the Armed Forces looms. Join us for our latest evening talk, delivered by Major General John Drewienkiewicz. Refreshments are included in the ticket price.
7th August – 9th August – From Horses to Horsepower event
Our signature event with Royal Logistic Corps Horse-Drawn Heritage is BACK and updated for 2026. Meet the warhorses, explore military vehicles and find out all about how an army moves.

Join professional artist Kate Dicker for a one hour horse drawing masterclass during our ‘From Horses to Horsepower’ event this August. These engaging sessions, suitable for all ages, cost just £10 per person which includes all materials.
