With the war in Ukraine dominating headline news, the museum is telling the background of the conflict through a new temporary exhibition.
The Royal Logistic Corps Museum at Worthy Down is hosting the temporary display, on loan from the National Army Museum, until April. The exhibition covers the history of the conflict from the historical perspective of the Crimean War, through the global conflicts of the twentieth century and the Cold War. It covers the more recent background to current tension in the region, leading to the outbreak of hostility that dominates the news today.
Complemented by items from the Museum collection, visitors to the exhibition can find out about how the British Army is supporting Ukrainian forces with training and supplies. The mannequin accompanying the exhibition is dressed in equipment similar to that which has been given to Ukrainian forces by the British Army.
This exhibition is a must see for anyone wanting to broaden their understanding of the current conflict. The Museum is free to enter, though donations are welcomed, and is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 9.30 to 4pm. The Museum is located on Connaught Road, Worthy Down, SO21 2RG.
